Sandie Bizys
formed Menai Illawong Physical Culture Club in 1990. In its short
life, Menai has become an extremely successful club, competing at
the elitist level of the sport and with the results to prove it.
Most importantly, our members are an extremely friendly mix of
girls, young women and ladies. It is what makes our club unique and
such a pleasure to be a part of. All of our members are very
supportive of each other and enjoy the strong competition, while
still maintaining life long friendships.
Since the club began, we have had only two changes in leadership.
Our Junior Associate (Teacher) is now Charis Young with Leanne Piper
teaching the Seniors. Leanne has 25 or more years of Physie
experience under her belt and many personal successes to go with it.
Leanne repeatedly contends for the Overall Ladies Grand Champion,
the ultimate National prize for ladies competition. Charis like her
sister Leanne enjoys great success at a National level in the Senior
section of the competitions and competes for the National Senior
Overall Grand Champion.
Our Ladies Associate is Joanne Walsh, a successful teacher and
competitor in the sport in her own right. Jo has always been very
competitive and successful as a Physie girl and lady competing
successfully at the National level and in teaching, bringing her
ladies to a standard that they never would have expected to achieve.
All of our teachers have a huge bank of knowledge to pass on to
their students and thoroughly enjoy their teaching experience.
Our members come along to Physie because they love the sport and
what it gives them. The reason they choose Menai Illawong Physie
Club is because of expert tutelage and the friendly atmosphere
within the club itself.
